How to delete an AIM account is explained in this article. You lose access to your data and content, such as emails, contacts, and calendar events, when you terminate your AOL account.
Here’s how to manually close your AIM account, including your AOL email account:
-
Sign in to the AOL account termination page with your AOL or AIM user name and password.
Read and understand the termination information before continuing with the cancellation process.
-
Select Continue Delete My Account to terminate your AOL or AIM Mail account
-
On the confirmation screen, enter your AOL or AIM Mail email address.
-
Select Yes, Terminate This Account to proceed
-
Wait until a notice appears informing you that your account has been deactivated and scheduled for cancellation. Select Got It to complete the cancellation.
If you don’t use your AOL account for 90 days without signing in, it may be canceled and unavailable until you reactivate it. Your username and account access are both permanently removed when you delete the account.
